| Maui - February 2011. A much anticipated and postponed 10 days of spiritual rejuvination in the luscious land of Aloha. Met up with friends I hadn't seen in years, thrilled at the abundance of humpback whales, and reconnected with the embrace of our tender planet earth. Ahhhh..... 5 pages to this lengthy travelogue. Hope you enjoy them all. |
Why not start at the top? The spectacular Haleakala. It was a bit chilly up there and very heavy with fog. It broke up at bit at sunset - just enough so that we got a peek of the Big Island. |
Did I mention the heavy fog? Not the most fun driving down in that in the dark.... |
Since one can actually see the curvature of the earth from up here, it made it easy to visualize hugging the entire globe and extend love to our beloved mother and all her children. Gotta mix it up with all the tree hugging and fern fondling I do back home in Oregon. |

![]() A van load of Japanese nationals seemingly prospecting for something unknown. They were carefully inspecting the grass and a couple times one of them got really excited and held up a miniscule bit of something... This is a cow pasture at about 4,000'. If anyone knows what this is all about please drop me a note. |
![]() Tedeschi vineyards - the volcano winery. Lovely grounds, but the mosquitos were biting big time so we didn't stay long. These little tree sprouts intigued me. |
![]() And here is another view of the tree sprouts at the base of their Mother Tree! Such a fragile beginning destined to become a magnificent tree. |
