![]() I glimpsed this lovely critter flitting about the front yard while working at my desk. Grabbed my camera and it seemed to want to pose. Delightful! |

Rob doing field work in the world-famous Harry & David Royal Riviera pear orchard. Photography can be very hard work. Hiked a while and braved some barbed wire, then waited a long time for the sun to provide the lighting to get the shot below. It takes a close-up like this to see the perfect 5-pointed star inside eash blossom. Wow! |

Yep, the canaries are at it again. It's amazing how fast they grow once their eyes open. We keep giving them away on Craigslist - and the recipients are sooooo grateful for their new pets. ![]() |
Loving the "dump truck action" garden cart. A warm spring day followed by a deadly hard freeze that night. Can't plant much outdoors until after the danger of frost is past - typically Mother's Day in the Rogue Valley. The orchards and vineyards have these huge wind machines that run during the coldest part of the early morning. They're kind of loud - like having a helicopter hovering nearby. |

St. Francis and Kuan Yin (on his shoulder) are keeping a prayerfull watch on the garden. Stawberries are growing on the backside :) The wild birds love the yard and have shown up in large numbers..... |

This flock arrived the end of April. The neighbor says they'll be by every day until the end of summer. Their song is very sweet and soft. They are really tiny birds. Mesmerizing. |
|
Rob and the "hired hand", Master Gardener Ken Cobb, putting in a row of birch trees which will be surrounded by wild flowers. Also planted Jackson & Perkins roses under the front window. |
|
Bear Creek Trail - a lovely paved bike path that runs along the creek between Medford and Ashland. |
|
Crater Lake - the deepest lake in the US. Elevation 6,178'. There's no guard rail.....step away from that slippery slope! |
